Who would love it
History lovers and in search of serene luxury amid the artistic and cultural vibrancy of Venice.
Overview of the Hotel
Aman Venice on the Grand Canal is a 16th-century treasure that stands as a symbol of luxury, history and exclusivity. Aman has a long-term lease on the property from the owners, the noble Papadopoli family, who live in a private residence on the top floor! The palazzo’s uniqueness lies in its combination of lavish Venetian Renaissance interiors and Aman’s signature minimalist elegance. Walking up the stunning staircases you feel as if you are staying in a historical monument worth paying to visit!

Impressively, the Aman is one of the only palazzos in Venice with a private garden, created by the family by buying two neighbouring palazzos and demolishing one to craft this lush, green escape in the heart of the city. Excessive? Perhaps, but this decadent indulgence adds a touch of tranquillity in this glamorous hideaway, with views of the canal from the terrace. It’s no wonder George and Amal Clooney chose Aman Venice for their wedding reception!

Number and type of rooms
Aman Venice boasts just 24 rooms and suites each one uniquely designed, with ornate frescoes and silk wall coverings, a beautiful fusion of the palazzo’s historical grandeur and Aman’s contemporary comforts. You’ll have to splash the cash to get a room with canal views, so we went for a courtyard view suite instead.
Do
You arrive at Aman Venice in style, with a luxury boat transfer whisking you away from the crowds directly to the hotel’s private jetty. Once settled in, you can explore the Grand Canal by boat and wander the narrow streets to discover Venice’s hidden gems. There are iconic landmarks aplenty to visit, of course. And no visit to Venice would be complete without a gondola ride!
One lesser known place we would recommend is the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the most important museum of 20th century European and American art. The location is as impressive as the collection, right on the Grand Canal between the Accademia Bridge and the Church of Santa Maria della Salute.
