A Countryside Retreat with a Cool, Quirky Vibe

Who would love it

Style-conscious travellers seeking a laid-back, luxurious rural experience.

Overview of the Hotel

Soho Farmhouse is the epitome of chic country living, a members-only club open to members of Soho Friends for stays during the week. This sprawling estate set over 100 acres offers a blend of rustic charm and modern luxury. Cozy log cabins and cabins on stilts are all designed to evoke a mix of farmhouse charm and contemporary comfort. It’s a place where guests can embrace a relaxed, outdoor lifestyle while indulging in the finest food, drink and pampering amenities Soho House is famous for.

Your escape begins as soon as you arrive. You leave your car at the entrance and are whisked away to your cabin in style in one of a fleet of sleek electric Porsche Caayennes. Once at your cabin, you’ll find bikes waiting for you outside, your primary mode of transport for getting around the expansive grounds. Wellies are also thoughtfully placed by your door, ready for exploring the countryside or navigating a classic British drizzle.

Number and type of rooms

Soho Farmhouse offers a variety of accommodations, from quaint Piglet Rooms for solo travellers or couples, to spacious One- and Two-Bedroom Cabins complete with wood-burning stoves and outdoor bathtubs. All rooms blend eclectic interiors with a cozy, countryside aesthetic. We splashed out on a three-bed cabin our last stay with three girls, as a reward for all the hard work done revising for Uni exams!

Dine

When it comes to dining at Soho Farmhouse your are truly spoilt for choice. We stayed for two days and nights on both of our visits and never needed to leave the estate!

The Hay Barn

This is one of our favourite places to eat, especially for a long and lazy lunch, with homemade pasta and pizza our personal favourites.

The Main Barn

The Main Barn is the heart of the Farmhouse, an impressive, high ceilinged space where guests gather for hearty, seasonal meals. The menu celebrates local produce, with dishes like farm-fresh salads, slow-roasted meats and wood-fired pizzas. Its also a popular place for Sunday roasts. The rustic décor features exposed beams, wooden tables and an open kitchen.

Pen Yen

For something a little different, Pen Yen offers exquisite Japanese robata grill cuisine in a relaxed yet stylish setting. Overlooking the lake, this restaurant serves expertly prepared sushi, tempura, and grilled seafood, blending Asian flavours with the countryside’s laid-back charm.

The Mill Room

Located in a converted mill, The Mill Room is Soho Farmhouse’s quintessential English pub, complete with crackling fireplaces and wooden bar stools. The cozy interior invites you to relax with a pint of local ale or enjoy a glass of wine by the fire, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of activities.

Milk float

The cool factor of Soho Farmhouse service shines through with their Milk Float. This vintage-style vehicle brings a touch of whimsy to your stay, whether it’s to mix cocktails at your cabin or, as we experienced, provide a full fry-up breakfast made to order. To make the experience even more memorable, the cook crafted our delicious breakfast while playing the tunes of Earth, Wind & Fire!

Grounds

The 100-acre grounds of Soho Farmhouse are a standout feature, with rolling meadows, lush woodland and tranquil lakes. It really feels like you have moved into a countryside village of your own during your stay. You can wander round on foot or jump on a bike, stopping of for coffee or a trip to the pool.

The Cowshed Spa offers a range of pampering treatments using natural products. Housed in a converted barn, the spa provides a rustic-chic setting for massages, facials and holistic therapies. There’s also a sauna and an outdoor hot tub, perfect for unwinding amidst the countryside.

Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the well-equipped Gym Barn, offering state-of-the-art equipment for cardio and strength training. The property also has tennis courts, a heated outdoor pool and daily classes in yoga, Pilates and spin.
